MIAMI – APRIL 11, 2023 – Cryptoys, the revolutionary new platform that combines toys, gaming and entertainment, and Mattel, Inc. (NASDAQ: MAT) today announced the premiere of the third and final wave of their hugely popular Masters of the Universe series. This last drop of digital action figure collectibles includes He-Man’s famous nemesis Skeletor as well as Sorceress, Panthor and Man-At-Arms. The figures complete the 12 characters within the collection which was first introduced on November 9, 2022 featuring He-Man/Prince Adam, Evil-Lyn, Battle Cat/Cringer and Tri-Klops.

Over the past six months, Cryptoys has been delighting fans with exciting toy drops featuring their favorite Masters of the Universe characters in the form of interactive digital collectibles, giving fans a fun new way to collect and play. Cryptoys action figures come to life before your eyes on the screen, transforming into 3D animated friends with big personalities that are ready to play. The excitement builds as players unwrap their new toys, revealing which skin and rarity they have discovered.

Mattel’s Global Head of Digital Gaming Mike DeLaet commented: “We are thrilled to bring the final wave of the Masters of the Universe series to fans around the world on the Cryptoys platform, which combines Mattel’s iconic IP with cutting-edge digital art. The response to the new line of digital collectibles has been phenomenal.”

Cryptoys continues to bring the surprise pack toy experience into the virtual world with digital action figures that come to life the moment they’re unwrapped. Each MOTU drop offers multiple skins across seven rarity levels – the more scarce the rarity skin is, the more powerful it will become.

“We’ve been watching our community’s incredible reactions to unboxing Wave 1 and 2 of the Masters of the UniverseTM Cryptoys, revealing one surprise after another, rooting each other on to pull their favorite characters and seeing how spectacular it is when they come to life in front of Castle Grayskull for the first time,” said Will Weinraub, CEO and Co-Founder at OnChain Studios. “We’re excited for the community to have access to the full slate of iconic characters, including fan favorite Skeletor and experience more ways to play with their new MOTU toys.”

The Cryptoys experience makes it easy for anyone to build an interactive collection, beginning with surprise pack Cryptoys Cubes. Fans can choose to keep cubes in mint condition or unbox them to reveal blister-packed toys. Once the toy is unwrapped, it comes to life and is ready to play. Priced at $39.99 each, collectors can purchase with a credit or debit card (including 5% transaction fee) on the Flow platform. Each time a collector mints up to five Cryptoys Cubes per transaction, they’ll receive a Golden Ticket for early access to future drops.

The Masters of the Universe collection is the first brand to launch on the Cryptoys platform.

Daniel Pickett

AFi founder and Editor-In-Chief Daniel “Julius Marx” Pickett has been around toys his whole life. The first line he ever collected was Mego’s World’s Greatest Super Heroes line back in the 70s. He has been surrounded by collectables ever since.

In 1999 he was confounded by a lack of information and news about some of his favorite toy lines he was collecting. Since he couldn’t find the information he decided to pursue it himself thinking other people might also be interested in the same news. He started writing a weekly column on the toy industry and action figure for a toy news site and in a years time he tripled the sites daily traffic with his updates, reviews and product features.

He built relationships with every major toy manufacturer and many sculptors, painters and mold makers. He grew his hobby into a world wide expertise that the industry has embraced.

In 2004 he teamed up with his toy buddy Jason “ToyOtter” Geyer and they created their own website

Daniel has been quoted in both industry and mass media press outlets. Over the years Daniel and AFi have been sought out as experts in the field. Daniel was regularly featured on “Attack of the Show” on the G4 network as the primary contributor to their “Mint On Card” segment, and our front page has been linked to from USA Today’s
“Pop Candy” Blog twice. Daniel’s content has also been featured on Bloomberg News,,, The Wall Street Journal, The Saturday Evening Post,,,, Boing-Boing,, Ain’t It Cool News, the Official
Star Wars blog, Geekologie, G4, CNet and Toy Fare magazine, among many
others. He has consulted on toy lines, books, documentaries and TV shows.

But all of that really just sounds snooty and “tootin’ his own horn” – the long and short of it is that Daniel loves toys and he LOVES talking about them.
